Last weekend was the final EKI course for 2010 and the last course at the OLF Training Centre for the year. It was cold, bitterly cold, but that didn’t deter the 30 people.
It was a great group. Right from the Get Go they were getting involved and they held nothing back. I guess the more they moved the warmer they kept!
Day 1 commenced with a workout then it was time for an introduction, overview and the history of Kettlebells. From here we explained the benefits of Kettlebells and what they enable the body to do.
It was then time to lift. The rest of Day 1 was about learning key Kettlebell Exercises, biomechanical and technical principles- all delivered practically.
Day 2 and there were tired and stiff bodies. This didn’t last long as Tommy had the group moving and grooving. After the mornings warm up and workout it was time for the group to be assessed. Every body passed which was great news to us and I’m sure to them as well.
It was then time for a discussion on programme design and implementation then it was off to lunch. After lunch it was time to train and put all that had been discussed into practice.
The first workout was a Strength based workout which included whole body squats, pushes and pulls. incorporated into this were strength complexes which included the Kettlebell ‘Bear’.
Next it was my turn and I took the guys and girls through a dynamic Kettlebell workout which involved circuits of continuous swings, cleans and snatches.
The final workout of the day included Barbell, Kettlebell, Bodyweight and Bulgarian Bag exercises.
After all of that it was time for a summary and then the day was done!
Congratulations to all that attended the final EKI of 2010.
