The IBBC Certification is an extensive look into everything Bulgarian Bag! You’ll learn over 50 exercises, warm ups and circuits. You’ll get an understanding behind how the Bulgarian Bag really works, how to apply it for different goals and how to design effective programmes. This course will transform the way you think about training and will give you an insight into how the body adapts to Bulgarian Bag training.
Not satisfied with giving you 50 great exercises and circuits, the IBBC Certification will show you how to implement these exercises into traditional programmes and complete Bulgarian Bag workouts. As an added special we will also introduce you to some of the Suples Training Equipment, this includes the HIRTS trainer, the gladiator wall and the battling ropes. What are the benefits of training with the Bulgarian Training Bag?
The Bulgarian Bag strengthens and increases the muscular endurance of your grip, wrists, arms, shoulders, back, legs, rotational muscles, core musculature, coordination, proprioception, and overall shoulder and joint mobility. Similar tools with the same idea in mind, such as sandbags, rice, bales, sacks loaded with hemp, heavy stones and war clubs were all used for the development of strength by wrestlers and combat athletes long before the invention of the iron barbell.

The Bulgarian Bags are available in 5 different weights. The recommended weight really depends on your current strength and overall athletic ability. Remember, there is a cumulative training effect with using the bag. Most exercises are designed for short rest periods, so don’t let the weight of the bag fool you. A medium bag at 12kg. is plenty of weight for even a 80kg conditioned athlete! Here are some sample guidelines:

Extra-Large Training Bag – 22kg.

  • Recommended for physically well-prepared athletes with good strength and conditioning. This bag is identified by its brown straps.

Large Training Bag – 17kg.

  • Recommended for athletes up to 110 kg. This bag is identified by its silver straps.

Medium Training Bag – 12kg.

  • Recommended for athletes up to 80kg. This bag is identified by its red straps.

Small Training Bag – 8kg.

  • Recommended for athletes up to 60kg. This bag is identified by its green straps.

Light Training Bag – 5kg.

  • Recommended for athletes up to 45kg. This bag is identified by its yellow straps.

    Assessment Procdeure

    To Achieve BBI Status:

    Practical: Physical performance of the Spin, Power Snatch and Arm Throw displaying competency in all movements.

    Teaching Skills Assessment: Delegates will be assessed on their ability to teach and correct technique whilst displaying understanding behind programme design.

    Written Assessment: A 50 questions written assessment will be given during the course. Based upon content covered and information in the manual

    To Achieve BBS Status:

    Delegate must complete the Bulgarian bag Spin Test

    Men above 75kg will perform the test with 17kg, below 75kg they will perform it with a 12kg.

    Women above 65kg will perform it with a 12kg, below 65kg will perform it with an 8kg.

    The test is 10 spins each way followed by 10 full push ups, completed 5 times in under 3.30 minutes.
